It's Your Superpower So Use It

Superhero stories might create aspiration, but humanness creates connection.

Something funky's happening online. Looking around, the loudest folks are becoming the most trusted. I'm not getting into whether they should be or not. But I am pointing out that confidence, competence, and credibility have become synonymous when they're completely different things.

This is basically what the Dunning-Kruger effect describes.

It's a cognitive bias where people with low abilities overestimate their competence, while experts underestimate their abilities because they assume others know what they know. This keeps dumb-dumbs from recognizing their deficits and creates false confidence. Worse, extremely competent people start experiencing less confidence.

The person you think needs to work on some stuff thinks they're hot shit.

The person you think is incredible doubts themselves.

You're better than you give yourself credit for.
